Orcatron Communications Ltd.

Like Orcatron's original Scubaphone, the Scubaphone VOX is the professional diving team's answer to reliable, easy-to-use, and extremely clear wireless underwater communications.

The Scubaphone VOX is a high-performance system which provides a 3km diver-to-diver range, approximately two to three times the range offered by any other standard diver communications system. The transmitter is voice-activated or PPT (push to talk) — selectable by the diver — thus allowing greater freedom for the diver and improved safety. This feature can be extremely important for divers working in situations where both hands are required and it is inconvienient to manually activate the transmitter.

An additional feature of the Scubaphone VOX is its field replaceable lead acid battery pack. With a simple switchover, operations can continue with minimum delay. The battery packs are easily rechargeable.

The Scubaphone VOX consists of a belt- or tank-mounted unit containing the transducer, the electronic circuitry and battery pack, and a headset containing two high-output speakers and a waterproof microphone. The entire diver system is lightweight yet rugged, comfortable, and easy-to-use.

The Scubaphone VOX operates using the same single sideband (SSB) ultrasonic techniques as all Orcatron products. The superior levels of distortion-free transmissions achieved are a result of the sophisticated electronic circuitry and filtering techniques used by Orcatron. They are designed to enhance speech and eliminate extraneous ocean noises.
